|As listed in features list, in HRT 1.4, besides location textures, also will be reworked and vehicles (yes, all vehicles, despite the fact that their number is enormous). But with re-texturing of vehicles not so simple situation, and in this post I tell you, why. |
On the vehicles re-texturing almost imperceptible.
New textures in high resolution can change the perception of whole object, when we talking about location object. Even very primitive model (from primitives) will be looks not bad with crisp and high quality textures, and the same model will be look bad with low resolution textures.
At the same time, perception from vehicles quality not so connected with textures, like perception from building quality. Car textures (in this game) have, usually, simple textures and the most important thing is the model. The model has a greater effect on the quality then textures.
I do not have time and skills (at this moment) to re-model all the cars. Car models will be the same, therefore, their quality can not improve much. But anyway — with improved textures, cars will look better then earlier. Some cars in the game have not only simple textures (that hard to somehow improve), but also textures with materials like commercials (on the sides of some truck cars, vans), logos, stones or another things in the trunk and so on. In these places difference in the texture will be more noticeable.
Earlier I remade textures of some cars: Barracks, Journey, Walton and Savanna (you can see them in this video-slideshow, in the end of video), Alpha and Ambulance.
Cars in today's report refers to those, changes on which are almost not seen. This is Admiral.
