Nothing new, everything as expected. Unpleasant information about the mod's status for today.

Dear friends, I have not posted any mod's information for a long time except some post on GTAForums and now it's time to confirm the same information and here, on the official mod's site.

To be briefly: the mod is frozen, and, most likely, cancelled.

I could not manage to finish it when it was possible, and now the other life has already begun, when there is simply no time for modifications and some hobby stuff.

Anyway, I still have a dream that I finish the mod one day. Thanks for supporting me all this time and sorry I did not live up to your expectations.

Also I consider an opportunity to collect mod's files and just to release these unfinished files one day.

2019 is almost finished, we are entering a new decade. Let the new year be better than previous. Happy New Year.

Back to LAn: Los Santos City Hall (and some thoughts)

Hello to all who are waiting for the new reports about the modification. Don't worry friends, mod is not canceled. However, the speed of the development of such mod is pretty low, like a turtle. No, turtle is even faster. It's been a hell of a lot of time since I started doing this mod and I am not a teenager anymore, and the hobbies are different (but dreams are the same). But mod must be finished, I think, yes? So let development going as going, but it definitely will come to the logical end.

Some time ago GTA: San Andreas was an outstanding and popular game, and even in 2011, when HRT 1.4 was announced (too much time for such mod, yes) — and the mod that could become a new version of my first SA global mod ever, but became a totally new thing — it was very popular and a lot of people played it. But time is running and yesterday's teenage players are older now, and the games are different. Even new GTA games. The series is get in step with newest trends (I mean GTA V) and old 2000s San Andreas will hardly be interesting for new players. And this mod will be never downloaded hundreds times like previous mods. But if it's still interesting for you — follow the mod. If the mod is not interesting anymore — it's also normal and I can understand you. And now will try to finish started.

Today's report will be pretty interesting I hope. I already wrote that I am backing from time to time to previous made things (a very bad habit). In parallel with started third section of Los Santos (LAs) were massively improved previous two (LAn and LAn2). Nearest reports will be connected with these improvements. Also we will touch again vehicles.

There is an official building on the LAn section — Los Santos City Hall. One of many symbols of Los Angeles. When I played L.A. Noire I was pretty amazed: the city in this game was made with such historical certainty, it's really great. So I decided to improve this building in some similar ways.

On the facade there is a sign like in real life.

Also inside there is a commemorative plaque with information that this building is a monument. The layout of windows were changed a little. And, of course, original game mapping issues were fixed.

GTANet Annual Awards 2017: The Best Texture Mod

Back to LAn: Only few fixed places

I again apologize for so long delays between development reports. As you remember, the third (conditionally speaking) section of Los Angeles, LAs, is in the development now. At the same time, the first and second ones (LAn and LAn2) were highly improved.

In this report you'll see some changes, connected with models on the LAn section.

On the first three images — a typical mistake of the game's models: incorrect texture mapping. It's not difficult and not long to fix one such model; but if you have hundreds of such models — it is a quite another matter. The fourth image — prelight error (lightning parameters). Fixed.

On the fifth and sixth images is a «hole» in the model. These holes also were fixed. And finally, on the seventh and eighth images you can see the part of the object that does not have palpability, so player can fall through it. Was fixed. You can also look at these screenshots on the Mod DB (from this image).

About the terms of release. I want to say that I decided not to say an exact or even approximate mod's release date. Excuse me if this upsets you, but this would be better than to say new terms each time and not to keep promises then.

Also I want to express gratitude to people who find mistakes and misprints in the mod (and on the site) and send me messages about them. Please, always write me (in Twitter, on the Mod DB, on GTAForums, but better with using the site's form) if you notice some mistakes and misprints on the textures. Any wishes and suggestions are welcome.

... And the time of approaching winter holidays starts! I wish everyone to have a good time, to choose great gifts for your close people and to enjoy this wonderful atmosphere of soon Christmas and New Year!

New on the YouTube channel

My YouTube channel, Flame: Modding, where I post all the videos from (all) my mods, was fully localized using of (relatively...) new translation feature.

So from now all the videos have two variants of description (English and Russian) that display depending on your language settings.

It was a routine work and I hope that it will give some positive results. And of course, I know, that really good results will be with release of some new videos. Don't worry — I still plan to release some new HRT 1.4 videos in the end of this\the beginning of next year. And we look again on the mod «in dynamic».

Also New Year soon, so it's time to change background on the channel. It's based on the Winter Mod screenshot.

Thoughts about improved HRT Pack 1.3 and the new poll

On the site has not been the polls for a long time. At the same time, polls are the great way to get your opinion about different questions.

Now I started the new poll and it is connected with possible version of old HRT Pack 1.3. For a lot time I think periodically about improving of this old version.

This mod, that was released in 2010, is still very interesting for people and it has 66863 (for today) downloads (version with autoinstaller). For me this mod seems a very simple now, because it was my first global modification for San Andreas, and I see a lot of shortcomings: the textures were made in very naive way, sometimes very bright colors etc. Also it has not MIP mapping feature (in that times it was not popular feature).

So it will be interesting to improve the old version. Not generally improve, of course, not remake all the mod (because for this I do HRT 1.4; HRT 1.4 is made full from scratch and does not share any files from 2010 mod), but fix some shortcomings and add MIP maps.

At the same time it's different question, whether to return to previous works, or leave them, just perceive it as something that is already done and just go ahead, to the next projects.

Anyway, now I'm not doing anything, but I'm just thinking. And your opinion is interesting for me. Please, vote.

Back to LAn section (continue): Different places

This is a continue of previous report. As I wrote, despite the started work with the third part of the Los Santos (LAs), previous parts (LAn and LAn2) were highly updated from previous stages of work. Because of this I offer you to back for some time on this part, and then we move on the LAs.

In previous report I have showed, how was improved LAn part, and how the textures have become better. And here are other screenshots.

Here a lot of screenshots with remapped buildings, including minor parts like the metal stairs, roads... From the other time resolution of some textures was raised, because now I use not reduced (because of optimization), but full-size textures (thanks to plugins), how they were done initially.

Pay attention also to the new textures of sidewalks. You can also look at these screenshots on the Mod DB (from this image).

Back to LAn section: Latest changes on the first section

I welcome again all those who follow the progress in creating this modification.

This progress, unfortunately, is very long, but it will bring its results. In the last «full format» news (About the actual state of the mod; vehicles; LAs section is started), that was posted at the beginning of August, I told about the whole situation about mod's creating and terms of finishing work. For me this situation is unpleasant, but now the tempo of the development is quite low, and in that news I've described it in more detail.

Also there were listed the main achievements for the last time. Generally, after finishing LAn and LAn2 sections of Los Santos the third part of this city — LAs was started. At the same time, work on vehicles was started again.

You will see the images from the third section (LAs) and with vehicles in future posts.

And now, due to the fact that I very often return to the sections that are already done and rework many of them again and again, I would like to show you some screenshots of the improved LAn section.

As you know, this is the first part of the city and it was finished some time ago. But periodically I returned and made various changes to it. Compared with previous times, a quality of textures was raised, and as always I had found a lot of little defects and even glitches on the models and have fixed them.

What about textures. If earlier limits of the game imposed restrictions, now (thanks to the existence of excellent plugins by community), we can use much more heavy textures without any problems for the game. In connection with this, a lot of textures that earlier were made in 512x512 and 1024x1024 pixels resolution, now were increased to 2048x2048 pixels (I've returned non-optimized variants).

Also, as an experiment, in some places I started to use even 4K textures, and in future I'll try to use more such textures.

Well, I offer to back to the first part of Los Santos and see what's new there.

Also I ask you to pay attention to my Autumn Sunshine mod. This is a massive modification for San Andreas dedicated to the autumn season. It has dozens of new features and really great, as for me, visual style.

Vehicles: Savanna

In this report I'll show you Savanna screenshots. This is a lowrider car that appears only in GTA: San Andreas. It's based on 1964 Chevrolet Impala, and also has a similar rear to those from 1963 Chevrolet Biscayne. It is one of the cars that can be modified in a customization shop (Loco Low Co, in this case).

Some players remember that I've shown this vehicle earlier, few years ago, but now this car was improved again, and textures quality is much better now. Like all the vehicles in the mod, this one also has MIP maps.

At the same time, due the ambiguous situation with cars retexturing (one of the minuses of this feature it is not very evident results) I recommend you to read previous news (About the actual state of the mod; vehicles; LAs section is started, Vehicles: Admiral, Alpha, Banshee, Cheetah, Comet, BMX). The latest full-fledged news, connected with the modification, was in March. I'm glad to welcome all, who read the site and mod's thread on GTAForums again.

First of all, I want to apologize for yet another long delay in publications.

I will give a pice of information about the actual state of the modification.

As you remember, it is in the development since 2011. At that time I seriously took great interest in the development of mods and opened for myself this world anew (in childhood I tried to create mods, but this new 2011-2011 period became decisive). After HRT Pack 1.3 I wanted to continue extension of the mod, but after it became clear that the mod must be remade anew, because the previous versions began to seem to me very simple, even naive in sense of quality.

When I started to make HRT 1.4 from scratch in 2011, I overestimated my aptitudes very seriously. Perhaps it was necessary to make the mod «as it is» and «as I can». But my skills were constantly improving and previous results ceased satisfy me. In this way I was making the mod for a few years. Los Santos was fully remade, San Fierro was almost remade. Las Venturas, the desert and the countryside were not ready.

In 2014 my work hard drive in PC was broken. I felt very stupid when I realized that the latest backup is very outdated and does not include a lot of things that I've done before. Nevertheless, I have continued to make the mod and remade «lost» peaces; then I gave my hard drive to the restore data service and, to my delight, the data was restored (and a lot of my photographs, that are very valuable to me and just as important as the mod, were also restored).

In 2015 the whole result, and the quality of Los Santos that was started in 2011, again seemed to me not very good. So I decided to remake Los Santos, and, in this way, the whole modification again. Now, as I decided, the mod will be made in really new quality, and this will be really new level.

But times goes by and I have a lot of other affairs now, and hobbies, and the education too; I am 23 years old and cannot attend as much attention to the mod as before. I understand that so long term for the development is more then enough, but I don't want to make a bad mod. It must be good. At the same time I don't have so much free time.

In this way, I think, the most logical way will be to set the release date as «when it's done», and you will understand me.

At the same time it's very interesting for me — to make this mod, and I want to finish it as more quickly as possible, but just cannot find some time. The mod mustn't be so much time in the development, and if I could make it «on a roll», it's possible to finish it much and much quickly, a lot of time before. But there is not another variant.

So I want to express regret to all who are waiting for the mod and give thanks to all who support me, including with help donations. Anyway, I'm not going to abandon the mod. Most likely, beta version of the mod, which will contain a part of the city, will be released at the beginning of next year.

What was done for the last time?

In December 2016 I wrote about the ending of the works with LAn2, the second part of Los Santos. In this way, were finished LAn and LAn2.

But throughout the spring I've greatly remade and improved these sections again.

One of the changes — is using of even more heavy textures than before. When I do a texture, I often try to make it in 2048x2048 pixels resolution. But sometimes, because of the incorrect work of the game, I had to decrease its resolution to 1024x1024 or even 512x512 pixels. But now the game works correctly thanks to many wonderful plugins by the community, and average parameters of users PCs, including graphics cards memory, are better then few years before. And while I improved these sections, I have increased the resolution of these optimized textures to their original 2048x2048 resolution. Also some textures were improved to this resolution.

And as an interesting experiment I'm trying to use in some cases even 4096x4096 pixels resolution textures (what can be called fashionable phrase — 4K).

A lot of places on LAn and LAn2 sections were improved again. Also I found a lot of missed before models defects and have fixed them.

Footage with these improved places are captured some time ago, and I still must mount them to the videos.

In addition, although someone may think this is a trifle, I've seriously changed a structure of my working files, and started to place files in more convenient way. Maybe thanks to this development also will be better.

Vehicles

A lot of work was done with vehicles. See the previous report for details about the vehicles in the mod, and in this report, below, you can see some fresh images.

The Marquis is a sailboat that firstly appears in GTA: Vice City; it is also represented in San Andreas, Vice City Stories, and in HD universe of series — GTA IV, GTA V. It is a civilian, leisure sailboat, that can include two people (driver and passenger). Earlier I've showed how this boat was retextured for HRT 1.4, but now it was heavy improved again, including high resolution sings on the sides of the boat.

And now about another vehicle in this report — this is a Bike, a pedal bicycle that is based, most likely, on the Schwinn Stingray (but the up tube and downtube are closer to those of Schwinn Fair Lady). On the side of a chain cap there is a sign Jameson-Jet, suggesting its real name. It is only present in San Andreas.

And retextured Bloodring Banger. This is a demolition derby car, modified Glendale, that is used in Bloodring and Blood Bowl stadium challenges (appeared in GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas).

And, finally, the work with the third part of Los Santos, the LAs section, is started. Below you can see a few images, connected with new section. These are two textures of the walls and one texture of the hedgerow, that is also based on the photo.

Mod's screenshots on the site and images hosting

Users from Ukraine can notice that screenshots and some other images in the site's news are not displaying. As you guessed, this is connected with blocking of some Russian services in Ukraine, in this list and Yandex's images hosting that I used.

With using of VPN, for example, built-in to the Opera browser, you can view the site in normal mode. Besides, they were also duplicated on the Mod DB page.

But for this reason I will upload screenshots in another way. From now I will upload screenshots directly on the site (inside to body of news). Maybe it will be even more comfortable for the users.

Also traditionally screenshots will be duplicated on Mod DB. Maybe later I'll will add them also on the Yandex hosting, but just for the order, backdating.

Today is the Victory Day

Приветствую всех, кто читает мой сайт. Сегодняшняя новость будет связана не с прогрессом в разработке модификации. Но сегодняшняя дата очень важна. 9 мая мы, жители бывших республик Советского Союза (России, Украины, Белоруссии, Казахстана и других) отмечаем День Победы.

В этот день был подписан акт о безоговорочной капитуляции нацисткой Германии (по европейскому времени было еще 8 мая, поэтому там отмечается эта памятная дата).

Под руководством Иосифа Сталина, Красная Армия, состоявшая из простых жителей Советского Союза самых разных национальностей (русские, украинцы, белорусы, представители других народов и народностей, населявших огромный Союз), вначале освободила свои собственные земли, а затем взялась за освобождение Европы (были освобождены Румыния, Чехословакия, Польша) — после кровопролитных боев, наконец, взят Берлин.

Наши Союзники, видя как вероломно напали гитлеровцы на нашу страну летом 1941, лишь в 1944 году вступили в боевые действия, открыв второй фронт.

Итак, эта победа досталась нам огромной ценой — 26 миллионов человеческих жизней. Так не пострадала ни одна страна в этом конфликте.

Обычные люди против самой сильной, объединенной армии Третьего рейха. Но эти люди не совсем обычные. Они были необычно храбрые и отважные, рискованные и честные, горячо любившие свою родину. Это были наши дедушки и прадеды.

Именно поэтому этот день, 9 мая, мы очень широко празднуем — для нас этот праздник означает новое рождение. Мы поднялись из пепла чтобы затем восстановить свою страну.

Город, в котором я живу, также был разрушен. Исторические здания в центре, которые мне очень нравятся, были в руинах. И я знаю, какую огромную работу провели после войны чтобы восстановить его.

Так что, с Днем победы!

В прошлых новостях на эту тему я делал краткий обзор своих модов. Советую почитать их и может быть загрузить одну из моих тематических модификаций. Модификация «Памятник» установит монумент неизвестному солдату (также там можно будет поесть солдатской каши и использовать аттракцион — пушку), а «Захват аэропорта» представляет собой небольшую миссию, в которой нужно освободить захваченный гитлеровцами аэропорт в деревенской местности.

Hello to all who reads my site. Today's news will not be connected with progress in the development of the modification. But today's date is very important and I think you may know why. 9 May we, inhabitants of former Soviet Union's republics (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and others) celebrate the Victory Day.

In this day was signed an act of unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany (by European time it was still 8 May, and because of this there spends this date in 8 May, but by Moscow time it was already 9 May).

Under the direction of Joseph Stalin, Red Army, consisting from the ordinary citizens of different nationalities of Soviet Union (Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians, representatives of other peoples and nationalities inhabiting the large Soviet Union), initially liberated our country, and then became to liberate Europe (were liberated Romania, Czechoslovakia, Poland), and after bloody battles, finally, Berlin was taken.

Our Allies, seeing how perfidiously the Nazis attacked our country in the summer of 1941, entered into hostilities and opened the second front only in 1944.

This victory went to us at a huge price — 26 million human lives. No country has not suffered in this conflict like USSR.

Ordinary people against the powerful united army of the Third Reich. But these people are not so ordinary. They were unusually brave, risky and honest, fervently loved their homeland. These were our grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

And because of this, this day, 9 May, celebrated so widely; for us this is like a new born; we rose from the ashes to then restore our country.

City in which I live was also destroyed. Historical buildings in the center, that I like very much, were in ruins. And I know what large work were spent, after the war, to restore them.

Happy Victory Day!

In one of previous news about this day I made a brief overview of some my modifications on this theme. I recommend to read them again and maybe even download one of my mods. The Monument modification, for example, adds a large monument dedicated to the unknown soldier (also with this mod you can eat army porridge and use the one thematic attraction — a gun), and with The Seizure of Airport you can pass a little mission and free, as a Red Army soldier, an airport in the countryside that was captured by The Hitlerites.

Thanks for attention and understanding, why this is so important for me and I write about this on the site of my GTA mod.

Vehicles: Admiral, Alpha, Banshee, Cheetah, Comet, BMX

In the continuation of the posts about the vehicles in the modification (for more details about them and to know how they will be improved, see the previous report), screenshots of Admiral, Alpha, Banshee, Cheetah, Comet and BMX.

Generally, almost all the cars in this report can be as an example of the fact that improving of cars textures cannot change view of the cars a lot. But, however, the interiors of all these cars are much better now. This is especially evident on the comparative screenshot of the Admiral.

Finally, pay attention at the BMX bike. Iron parts of it now are more detailed.

Admiral in 3D Universe was based on 1980s Mercedes-Benz W123; also appears to be resemblances of the Fiat Regata (1983–1990).

In the same time Alpha is a sport coupé featured not only in San Andreas, but also in HD Universe GTA games; based on 1991 Dodge Stealth.

Cheetah is a supercar featured in both the 3D Universe and HD Universe, based on Ferrari 512 TR Testarossa (in San Andreas).

Comet is a sports car that appears in both 3D Universe and HD Universe and based on the Porsche 911. In San Andreas and Vice City it was one of my favorite cars!

BMX is BMX; it was based on the BMX. This bike first appeared (with other bikes) in San Andreas; in Vice City Stories there is also a «female» variation of the BMX with step-through frame.

Briefly about the vehicles; Barracs, Walton and other

As I promised before, today's report will be dedicated to the vehicles. In fact, I want to make series of reports that will be dedicated to the different vehicles in the modification. But for a start I want to give a brief summary how will be improved textures of the cars in HRT 1.4.

Some of what I'll say, I've already told in old report about vehicles.

Well, in HRT 1.4 modification will be replaced not only all the environment (game world) textures. Because I want to do some kind of full game remastering, I want to change as more different aspects, as will be possible for me. And I decided that it will not be superfluous to try to improve cars textures.

But everybody who once opened cars textures (txd files) know, how little they affect on cars quality. Textures of vehicles in all 3D Era GTA games are very «conditional»; in fact that can maybe to define some shades of car's body and nothing more (but textures in the other file — vehicle.txd — are very important, because all the cars share some base textures, like textures of headlights and so on from that file, but now I am not working with it).

The visual quality of a car depends very much only on a model's quality (DFF file). Because of this I want to warn that you will not see striking differences in the quality of the cars. Unfortunately. You will see a real difference in the quality of game world (good textures, for example, can really improve the final quality of building or some other objects of the game map). But cars will be improved a little. Only some parts of the cars (like iron barrel on the Walton) can look much better than in the original game.

Because of this cars textures are not the main thing in the mod, but they necessarily will be improved. If you will not like them, you can install only world textures. I think that mod will be very flexible in this sense and each user will be able to install only needed parts.

Let's move to some vehicles.

Country car Walton (I showed these cars and earlier, but now I have improved the textures again).

Now some vehicles, on which the improved textures are not obvious. These are planes AT-400 and Cargobob, bike BF-400, scooter Faggio, Cement Truck and Combine Harvester.

New video: Los Santos streets (section LAn2) and some little announce

The first news in this year will be again dedicated to the LAn2 section. Despite on fact that the main works with it are finished, there are left something that deserves attention. I post a little video (in which was included some extended scenes from previous big trailer), shows some objects and streets of this Los Santos part.

And in a very short time we will move to absolutely new materials and media. But these media will not be images from the next part of game world, as usually. Next time I want to draw your attention at vehicles in the mod, and how the textures of different vehicles will be changed. (It is not danger to the next part of Los Santos — that, by the way, called LAs — because works with this section are already in progress).

Happy New Year 2017!

2016 comes to the end, just some hours are left. Expiring year was very eventful and I wish that the next year will be not less rich on interesting events and not less positive than this year! I hope that in the next year we will achieve new heights in creativity, work, love, everywhere. Time to bring along the best memories from spring, summer, autumn and this December, that are flown so fast, to draw conclusions that will help us not to make mistakes in future and leave all bad and sad things in old year, because a new, white page will be opened very soon! I wish all a Happy New Year!

P.S. The next year definitely will be very productive for me in sense of the mod (take this opportunity to thanks all for support — and to all who write to my GTAForums thread, and in commentaries on Mod DB; hope one day I will open commentaries feature here).

Also, because new year holidays starts, I want to offer you to play my Winter Vacation 2.0 mod for San Andreas (it was released in 2011 and from that time I always wanted to improve it, later updated version with suspended; but roughnesses сan not prevent this mod do the best work from all San Andreas winter mods in sense of winter feelings and holiday atmosphere; try and you will understand) and my Winter Mod 3.0 for Vice City (recently updated modern and beautiful winter modification for my favorite GTA part, a real winter story will be in the game after installation).

It's very good that I finally can say definitely that I've finished this section! Like always, I can add that this doesn't mean that there will not be any changes and little improvements, but main work is finished.

I present you a new large video that is dedicated to the LAn2 section of Los Santos! Enjoy watching.

2016 is ending and I want to draw some conclusions. This year was not so productive as previous one, but very variety on other events. I am sure that new 2017 will be also VERY PRODUCTIVE in sense of creating of the modification. There were finished two parts — sections — of Los Santos, that were made in the new quality. I've started to remake Los Santos anew because the old variants of textures, that I've created in 2011-2012 seemed to me not very good and I decided that I can do this better. I think that this decision was not for nothing. But there is a lot of work in the future and it's scope might be even scare a little, if I will not confident that I can do all this. There are still few sections of Los Santos and then we will move to the other cities. San Fierro, that was almost finished earlier (2014-2015), also will be redone for the second time, but, most likely, I'll keep some previous textures.

Mod is in the development for a few years and I perfectly understand that it is time to finish with all this. Mod mustn't stop development of my skills and must not be in the development so long. Also some kind of virtual quality bar, as we can call so, I mean quality that is expected by users, will be only higher with time. In such situtation each author and developer (I think) can feel some fears before future release. I think it is unreasonable. I also hope that the pace of development will be higher next year.

Thereby the work goes its course, all this is intertwined with my life, and despite I cannot dedicate a lot of time to the mod, as before, I never forget about it. Very often new ideas and thoughts come to me. Sometimes for the sake of modification I must refuse some other ideas in the mods and fight the urge to take up something new and interesting.

Well, with this video, dedicated to the LAn2 section, I put the point in the development of the mod in this year. Next year there will be tens of new videos, hundreds of new screenshots and a lot of reports about made progress. Thanks to all who is watching for this modification (and its site). Hope you will like the new video.

Most likely, this is the last news in this year, connected with the mod.

Christmas and New Year are very soon; winter holidays — are maybe the only holidays of the year that can give us felling of a happy tale. I wish you spend winter holidays very well and take a good rest from worries!

Announce of the new big video from HRT 1.4 mod, dedicated to LAn2 section

New and large video from HRT 1.4 mod, that will be dedicated to finishing of all the works on LAn2 section (main works, but it certainly does not mean that there will be nothing better in details), will be released very soon. And now — a little announce video.

Work on this section was started a long time ago and the trailer, that will be released in next few days, could be released much time earlier. But better late than never. With time, when I completely make out the rubble of my (other) deals, development will be quicker.

There is December already, the New Year soon, and there are still a lot of unfinished things; still a lot of unrealized ideas; mod is in the long list of different unfinished things. Still a lot of goals, connected with the mod, must be finished; still hundreds of textures must be remade. But there is confidence that everything will turn out.
